We invite you to Challa challani Cool cool... the coolest Contest,presented to you by Telugu Inti Adapaduchulu.

The summer wave is here to stay ,we all make a special effort to make each summer enjoyable for our loved ones, take them out for an outing, make icecreams,... prepare their favourite foods etc ... of course, Summer being just another reason to celebrate after the long winters. So,C'mon, Let's plunge into the pool of juices and milk shakes and enjoy the taste of summer with style.

The participants have surprised us by using various ingredients, coco,kiwi,dates, cucumber,carrot,ginger,not to forget eneryone's favourite Mango, pineapple, orange ,bananaand so on . you name it we have it .

We organisers want to thank all the participants for taking this interest,and providing us with actual nutrient values of their entries.Girls !!!! please take time to vote and make this contest a successful & fruitful one.

Entry 1 - Tropical Sunset by Sriharsha Mupparaju


Recipe:

Ingredients:

Mango - 1/2 cup diced or 1/2 cup pulp
strawberries - 3
cherries -3 (for red color)
ice cubes - 3
sugar - 2tbsps (optional)

Method:

1.Blend diced mango with sugar and a little water into puree (it should not be too thick). Remove and keep aside
2.Blend strawberries and cherries with a little water and filter to remove the seeds.
3.In a tall glass put the ice cubes and pour the filtered strawberry juice into it. Hold the glass slantingly and carefully pour the mango juice into the centre to create a sunset hue.
4.Fan out a strawberry to garnish and serve!

Entry 2 - Watermelon Juice by Pavani Gudivaka


Recipe:
Ingredients:
Watermelon Pieces 1 cup
Mint leaves 5
Black pepper pwdr 1/4 Tsp
Sugar (Optional) 1 Tsp
Salt pinch
Procedure :
Mixie jar lo anni vesi baga blend chesukovali. Oka glass lo ki vadaposukovali. Ice cubes vesukuni mont tho garnish chesukuni serve cheyadame!!!
Advantages:
It's easy and good for health too.
Watermelon vedi taggistundhi and summer lo body dehydrate avvakunda vuntundhi.
Mint kuda health ki chala manchidhi.

Entry 3 - Fruit ice cream treat by Sushma Pinjala


Recipe:
Ingredients:
Papaya pieces 1 cup
Watermelon pieces 1 cup
Cucumber pieces 1 cup
Anyicecream 1/2 cup
Any dry fruits 1 sp
Sugar 1sp
Water 1/4 cup
Preperation:
Method Grind all the fruits with water and sugar.Now add icecream on top and garnish with dry fruits.
This measuring serves 2 people.
Advantages:
All the fruits used r healthy.

Entry 4 - Strawberry Banana Smoothies by Subraja Nagabalaji

Recipe:

Ingredients:
Bananas -1big
strawberries -10
milk-1.5 cups
yogurt-1.5 cups
Sugar-1.5 cups

Procedure:

1.Grind strawberries , banana smoothly .
2.mix milk , yogurt and sugar in mixer .
3.mix both and refrigerate for 2 hrs.
4. serve cool.

Advantages :

strawberries have high in vitamins c(136%) and cancer fighting anti-oxidents.It also has anti-aging properties.
Bananas are rich in vitamin B6 and they are a good source of fiber, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. Lack of B6 in a diet can cause weakness, irritability and insomnia. The potassium found in bananas helps to regulate blood pressure and may reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke. Potassium is also essential for helping muscles to contract properly during exercise and reduces cramping up. A medium-sized banana provides 400 mg of potassium -11% of daily value- and contains 110 calories and 4 grams of fiber. Bananas also contain plenty of carbohydrates which are the body's main source of energy. They are also easy to digest.

It is a good source of high biological value protein, it is the primary source of calcium in our kids' diets and provides a number of other key nutrients including vitamins A and D and the mineral phosphorus, which are all vital for optimal bone development during childhood years.

Entry 5 - Mango Sherbet by Bhargavi Aitha


Recipe:


Ingredients:

Mango Pulp(1/4th can)
Orange Sherbet(1 scoop)
Sprite(as per required consistency approx 1 1/4 glass)


Preparation:
Mix all the above ingredients (Mango pulp, Orange sherbet and sprite) together, and add ice cubes. Serve chilled.


Serving 3 glasses.

Note:

We can get Mango pulp in Indian store and Orange Sherbet in frozen section in Walmart.

Advantages:

Mango:
Mangos contain a considerable amount of Gallic acid, which may be binding to the bowels. It is excellent as a disinfectant to the body. It is a great blood cleanser, and it also has fever soothing qualities. Mango juice reduces excessive body heat. Mangos are also wonderful for helping to throw off body odors.

Oranges are mainly citrus foods that contains vitamin C. It works as an antioxidant. It is essential to remove the toxic effects from free radicals developed in the body due to air and water pollution.

Entry 6 - Mango Madness (A low calorie smoothie) by Amisha Dattani


Recipe:

Ingredients:

Squeezed mangoes or mango pulp -- 1
mangoMilk (preferably Skimmed) -- 1.5 cups
Vanilla ice cream(low fat) or frozen yogurt -- 1 scoop
Cardamom -- about 1 piece
Orange Juice --1/3rd cup
Ice Cubes -- 1/2 cup
Splenda/honey -- to taste
Black Grapes To Decorate the glass

Preperation:

Peel the Cardamom and powder the grains; throw away the peels. Alternatively you can use half a spoon of readily available powdered Cardamom.
Add ice cream/frozen yogurt, milk, and mango pulp to the blender and blend them for about 2 minutes.
Add Cardamom to the milk shake and blend it again for a few seconds.
Refrigerate the smoothie and serve with or without ice.
To decorate the glass. Slice few grapes and press them agains the glass till they stick.Pour the smoothie.

Preparation Time:

If you have all the ingredients ready, this will take less than 5 minutes.

Useful Tips:

Whether you are using ice cream or frozen yogurt, make sure to use the one without flavor. Vanilla is recommended because it is very close to being a generic flavor.
Some people like the milk shake to be thick and some like it watery. Control the consistency by varying the amount of ice cream/frozen yogurt.
In case you dont want to use splenda you cud use 2tbsp honey.
