We invite you to Challa challani Cool cool... the coolest Contest,presented to you by Telugu Inti Adapaduchulu.

The summer wave is here to stay ,we all make a special effort to make each summer enjoyable for our loved ones, take them out for an outing, make icecreams,... prepare their favourite foods etc ... of course, Summer being just another reason to celebrate after the long winters. So,C'mon, Let's plunge into the pool of juices and milk shakes and enjoy the taste of summer with style.

The participants have surprised us by using various ingredients, coco,kiwi,dates, cucumber,carrot,ginger,not to forget eneryone's favourite Mango, pineapple, orange ,bananaand so on . you name it we have it .

We organisers want to thank all the participants for taking this interest,and providing us with actual nutrient values of their entries.Girls !!!! please take time to vote and make this contest a successful & fruitful one.

Entry 1 - Tropical Sunset by Sriharsha Mupparaju


Recipe:

Ingredients:

Mango - 1/2 cup diced or 1/2 cup pulp
strawberries - 3
cherries -3 (for red color)
ice cubes - 3
sugar - 2tbsps (optional)

Method:

1.Blend diced mango with sugar and a little water into puree (it should not be too thick). Remove and keep aside
2.Blend strawberries and cherries with a little water and filter to remove the seeds.
3.In a tall glass put the ice cubes and pour the filtered strawberry juice into it. Hold the glass slantingly and carefully pour the mango juice into the centre to create a sunset hue.
4.Fan out a strawberry to garnish and serve!

Entry 2 - Watermelon Juice by Pavani Gudivaka


Recipe:
Ingredients:
Watermelon Pieces 1 cup
Mint leaves 5
Black pepper pwdr 1/4 Tsp
Sugar (Optional) 1 Tsp
Salt pinch
Procedure :
Mixie jar lo anni vesi baga blend chesukovali. Oka glass lo ki vadaposukovali. Ice cubes vesukuni mont tho garnish chesukuni serve cheyadame!!!
Advantages:
It's easy and good for health too.
Watermelon vedi taggistundhi and summer lo body dehydrate avvakunda vuntundhi.
Mint kuda health ki chala manchidhi.

Entry 3 - Fruit ice cream treat by Sushma Pinjala


Recipe:
Ingredients:
Papaya pieces 1 cup
Watermelon pieces 1 cup
Cucumber pieces 1 cup
Anyicecream 1/2 cup
Any dry fruits 1 sp
Sugar 1sp
Water 1/4 cup
Preperation:
Method Grind all the fruits with water and sugar.Now add icecream on top and garnish with dry fruits.
This measuring serves 2 people.
Advantages:
All the fruits used r healthy.

Entry 4 - Strawberry Banana Smoothies by Subraja Nagabalaji

Recipe:

Ingredients:
Bananas -1big
strawberries -10
milk-1.5 cups
yogurt-1.5 cups
Sugar-1.5 cups

Procedure:

1.Grind strawberries , banana smoothly .
2.mix milk , yogurt and sugar in mixer .
3.mix both and refrigerate for 2 hrs.
4. serve cool.

Advantages :

strawberries have high in vitamins c(136%) and cancer fighting anti-oxidents.It also has anti-aging properties.
Bananas are rich in vitamin B6 and they are a good source of fiber, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. Lack of B6 in a diet can cause weakness, irritability and insomnia. The potassium found in bananas helps to regulate blood pressure and may reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke. Potassium is also essential for helping muscles to contract properly during exercise and reduces cramping up. Entry 5 - Mango Sherbet by Bhargavi Aitha


Recipe:


Ingredients:

Mango Pulp(1/4th can)
Orange Sherbet(1 scoop)
Sprite(as per required consistency approx 1 1/4 glass)


Preparation:
Mix all the above ingredients (Mango pulp, Orange sherbet and sprite) together, and add ice cubes. Serve chilled.


Serving 3 glasses.

Note:

We can get Mango pulp in Indian store and Orange Sherbet in frozen section in Walmart.

Advantages:

Mango:
Mangos contain a considerable amount of Gallic acid, which may be binding to the bowels. It is excellent as a disinfectant to the body. It is a great blood cleanser, and it also has fever soothing qualities. Mango juice reduces excessive body heat. Mangos are also wonderful for helping to throw off body odors.

Entry 6 - Mango Madness (A low calorie smoothie) by Amisha Dattani


Recipe:

Ingredients:

Squeezed mangoes or mango pulp -- 1
mangoMilk (preferably Skimmed) -- 1.5 cups
Vanilla ice cream(low fat) or frozen yogurt -- 1 scoop
Cardamom -- about 1 piece
Orange Juice --1/3rd cup
Ice Cubes -- 1/2 cup
Splenda/honey -- to taste
Black Grapes To Decorate the glass

Preperation:

Peel the Cardamom and powder the grains; throw away the peels. Alternatively you can use half a spoon of readily available powdered Cardamom.
Add ice cream/frozen yogurt, milk, and mango pulp to the blender and blend them for about 2 minutes.
Add Cardamom to the milk shake and blend it again for a few seconds.
Refrigerate the smoothie and serve with or without ice.
To decorate the glass. Slice few grapes and press them agains the glass till they stick.Pour the smoothie.

Preparation Time:

If you have all the ingredients ready, this will take less than 5 minutes.

Useful Tips:

Whether you are using ice cream or frozen yogurt, make sure to use the one without flavor. Vanilla is recommended because it is very close to being a generic flavor.
Some people like the milk shake to be thick and some like it watery. Control the consistency by varying the amount of ice cream/frozen yogurt.
In case you dont want to use splenda you cud use 2tbsp honey.

Ingredients:

2 cups chopped seeded watermelon
1 cup crushed ice
2 teaspoons honey(Except weight watchers others can add sugar)
1/4 teaspoon blackpepper

Preperation:

1. Combine WaterMelon,CrushedIce,Honey,Blackpepper in a blender until smooth.
2. Serve chilled and stir well before serving.

Advantages:

Watermelon,its a good thrist quencher espeiclly during summer by removing heat from the body and also a good source of vitamin C , Vitamin A and powerfulanti oxidants which protect us from certain cancers and asthamas.It is fat free and cholestrol free energy drink especially good for the heart, all the weight watcher can have this drink as most of us are very much worried to putdown weight.Apart from this it is very easy to prepare there is even no need to add honey/sugar because of its natural sweetness.Its really tatsy and a light drink especially along with breakfast/snacks.

Hello all. Juices are one of my favorite things.The juice I am showing you all today is a "Veggie- Fruit Juice" .Many of us will not take the required amount of veggies daily.So after this you may like taking veggie juice which tastes like fruit juice so that you get all the goodies from veggies and fruits.

Ingredients:

Tomato - 1

small tomato

Ginger - 1/2 inch piece

Carrot - 3-5 baby carrots

Celery - as per your taste

Apple - 1 big apple(2 if small)

Honey - as per your taste

Lime juice - as per your taste

Preperation?:Cut all the ingredients(solids) into small pieces and blend in a juicer or blender.Now strain the juice and add honey and little lemon juice.Enjoy your juice.

Advantages:

This juice helps to revitalize the body and has cleansing effect.It also helps for skin toning and improving skin complexion.Many of the ingredients in this juice help for healthy heart.

This juice give best results if taken daily.All the ingredients has their own good effects .

Apple: It has a soluble fiber pectin which hepls for healthy heart , colestrol reduction and it has got antioxidants which helps in body revitalisation.

Tomato: It contains vitamin C, carotin, vitamins of group B.It helps in fighting cancer and also improves skin complextion.

Carrot:Carrots are packed with vitamins and helps in body revitalisation,skin toning and has cleansing effect.

Note:Your can use any fruit instead of Apple like melons,mango, banana.

Entry 9 - Berry Healthy Shake by Visa Sriram


Recipe :

Serves 4

Ingredients :
Strawberry - 7 to 8
Banana - 1
Flavored Yogurt - Any flavor. I used strawberry in this recipe.
Orange Juice - 1 cup
Ice cubes
Whipped topping - optional

Method:
Blend the strawberries, banana, flavored yogurt and ice cubes. Chill if needed else pour into a glass with few more ice cubes and top it with some whipped topping.

Serving Suggestions:
You can replace strawberries with any other kind of berries you like. If berries are not in season frozen berries make an excellent substitute.
For topping, suit your fancy. I went with whipped topping because I still had some in my freezer. A scoop of ice cream topped with strawberry syrup and nuts would be great too. For those wtaching their waist and hips a scoop of fat free frozen yogurt is an ideal substitute.


What makes this shake healthy?
1. There is NO added sugar. It is naturally sweet because of the yogurt and the banana, so makes a healthy snack for the kids and adults alike.
2. When low fat yogurt is used and whipped topping is ommited, makes a healthy and balanced drink for calorie counters. Quarter banana is not gonna hurt the weighing scales :)
3. Strawberries are very rich in anti oxidant and is a god-send for weight watchers.
4. Banana is rich in potassium, low on sodium and has abundant vitamins and minerals. Having a banana right before our exercise boosts our energy levels.
5. Enough cannot be said about the benefits of yogurt. It is high in calcium and b12 vitamin. Increases the immune power and low fat yogurt is a very nutritious snack for weight watchers.
6. Orange Juice is extremely rich in Calcium and Vitamin C.


This is a very healthy shake , super easy and can be enjoyed by all including pregnant and lactating women, waist watchers and kids. Do try it and let me know how it turns out.

Entry 10 - BERRY BLAST by Swetha Yalakanti


This recipe serves 4

Ingredients:

Blue berries - 20
Rasberries- 10
Strawberries - 5
Banana-1
Milk- 1 1/2 glass
Honey- 2 tbsp (acc to taste)
Vanilla icecream - 1 scoop
crushed ice

Method:

Fill 2 glasses in which you want to serve your drink with crushed ice and 2 more glasses with the fruit, then add milk to the glasses with fruit to fill it
add all the ingredients from all four glasses ( ice, fruit and milk) to the blender, add the scoop of icecream and the honey to it, then blend them into a
smoothie. Serve it immediately.
Advantages:

Blueberries and rasberries haved powerful anti oxidents which are very helpful for our health
Strawberries have the vitamin C and also the antioxidants
Banana is known for promoting healthy digestion and creating a feeling of youthfulness. They help promote the retention of calcium,
phosphorus and nitrogen - all of which then work to build sound and regenerated tissues.
Honey also offers incredible antiseptic, antioxidant and cleansing properties for our body and health.

Entry 11 - Mango-Kiwi Magic by Swathi Taduvoyi


Recipe

Its simple!!!!
(For 2 ppl)
4 Kiwis
3/4 Ripe Mango
1/2 Squeezed Fresh Orange Juice

Mix the above three in a juicer with cold water and u get Mango-Kiwi magic!!!
(Add sugar if needed)
Advantages:
it is good for detoxifation and brightens the skin....!!!!

Entry 12 - Mango-Banana Milk Shake by Kalpana Hemanth




















Preparation Time : 15 minutes
Serves - 4

Ingredients :
Mango(cheruku rasaalu) - 5
Banana - 1
Fat free Cold Milk 2 cups
Honey - 2 teaspoons
Almonds - 5
Dry dates - 2
Ice cubes - 3
Directions :
Sqeeze the mangoes and slice the banana.
Blend mango, banana, milk, honey and ice cubes in the mixie until smooth.
Pour into cups to serve.
Top with crushed almonds and dates.

Benefits : 1. Banana is an excellent snack for a person who is highly stressed or in depression. It is potassium enriched fruit and has highest quantity of carbohydrates. It also helps in lowering cholesterol level in th body.

3. We all know that milk is a nutritional drink which has an excellent source of calcium and Vitamin A.
4. I used Honey instead of sugar due to it's benefits. It's a natural sweetener and an instant energy booster. With honey, you can avoid allergies, cold, cough, stress, insomnia and lot more... 5. Almonds contain folic acid and fibre. And, it's the most nutritious nuts of all. A healthy weight loss by lowering bad cholesterol is possible and it even helps increase complexion.

What you need to make this??(For 2 glasses...)
Peach - 1
Apple - 1 (preferably FUJI Apple)
Banana - 1 (Medium)
Pineapple - 1 slice (Regular round slice)
Sugar - 1tsp
Water/Ice - 1cup (Preferably cold water for drinking instantly or ice if you want juice to be like smoothie)

How will you make this??
1. Cut peaches, apples to medium size.
2. Cut Pineapple to small size.
3. Cut banana to bit big size.

Entry 14 - Carrot Orange Juice by Kavya Naimish


Ingridents:

Carrot:1(peeled n cut)
Orange:1(remove the skin)
Dates:2-3(adjust according to ur taste)
Honey:2 spns
Sugar:1 spn
Milk:1 cup(preferbaly cold milk)

Procedure:
1.Soak the carrot and dates in water for 15-20 mins and then blend into a smooth juice by adding 1/2 cup of milk
2.Take this carrot juice into a glass and then add another half cup of milk carfully throught the edges of glass and then add 2 spns of Honey on the milk.
3.Now blend orange juice and add it to the glass widh carrot juice.Add it slowly through the edges,and now its ready to serve.

Mix well and enjoy the taste of Carrot Orange Juice :)

To reduce the calories I Didnt use Sugar to the juice,to make it rich in iron I used dates n Honey which gives more taste to the juice.
Carrot and orange made a good combo...

For the special effect I decorated the glass rim with powdered sugar.

Entry 15 - Coco Banana Drink by Sangeetha Penugonda


Serving : 2 glasses

Calories : 400 approx

Ingredients :

Ice cubes -5
Banana - 2 ( riped )
Bournvita - 2 tsps (or any chocolate mix powder)
Sugar - 3 tsp
Dates -1
Milk - 1/2 cup

Recipe :

Blend all ingrediates together and Serve with little choc powder on top

Advantages :

Choclate drink so kids will love it.
Banana is good for people who have high blood pressure .
Banana produces a type of protein(serotonin.) in the body Serotonin is a hormone that is known to make you feel happy and improve your mood (got this info from online) .
Dates great source of fiber and Milk good surce of calcium

Entry 16 - Blue Berry Smoothie by Poornima Gummadavelli
















Ingredients:

1/3 cup blueberries
1/3 cup raspberries
1/2 cup apple juice
1/4 cup yogurt
3 ice cubes
1 banana


Directions:

Peel the banana and slice it. Add 1/3 cup blueberries and 1/3 cup raspberries to the banana slices.Add 1/4 cup of yogurt. I’ve used low fat.
Also pour in 1/2 cup apple juice.Add a couple of ice cubes. Blend all the ingredients till you get the smooth, creamy drink. Enjoy your smoothie :)

The banana will give the smoothie its creaminess.They are high in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of haemoglobin in the blood .

Recipe:Ingredients:

  1. Kiwi-250 gms
  2. cucumber(Cadil) 125 Gms
  3. 1 Full Fist of pomegrenate seeds
  4. Slice of lime to decorate
  5. 1 tsp sugar

Procedure:

Grind kiwi and cucumber( dont peel the skin) and sugar and pour in the glass and decorae with pomegranate seeds

Advantages to the health:

This smoothie is refreshing,clansing and instantly integrating with high vitamin 'E' content to promote "lovely skin"The Vitamin 'C' and potassium ingredients in this juice keep the lower blood pressure.

Ingredients :
2 big slices of pineapple with the skin, cut into pieces
1 small tender coconut (coconut water)
½ cup tender coconut meat (nariyal ki malai)
½ teaspoon subza (garden cress seeds
JUICER:
1. soak subza in water for 10 mts
2. Juice the pineapple slices.
3. Chop the tender coconut meat finely.
4. Mix together the pineapple juice, tender coconut meat and tender coconut water.
5.. Add some crushed ice in 2 glasses and pour the juice over it. Serve immediately.

Entry 19 - Mixed Fruit Punch by Vineela Sagar


Drinking mixed fruit punch is very refreshing and boosts energy levels while still the taste can be enjoyed. This also avoids dehydration, a common problem in summer season.

Ingredients:
Mango Pulp – 1 Cup
Orange Fanta – 3-4 Cups
Milk – 3 tbsps
Strawberry Ice Cream - 1 Cup
Almonds – For Decoration


Procedure:

Boil the milk and let it cool.
Mix mango pulp, milk, fanta, and half of the strawberry ice cream well and refrigerate for some time.
Just before serving, add the remaining ice cream and decorate with almonds.
If needed, add ice cubes.
Advantages:
This punch is really easy to make and presence of fanta attracts kids’ attention. Following are some of the nutritional benefits of this punch:


Mango pulp is one of the best summer time drinks and helps in conditions like constipation, excessive thirst, stress, mental weakness.
